weight of at least 35 kg) infect. with human immunodefic. virus-1 (HIV-1) without known mutat. assoc. with resist. to the non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhib. (NNRTI) class, tenofovir or emtricitabine and with viral load ≤ 100,000 HIV-1 RNA copies/mL
C/I: Hypersens. Should not be co-admin. with drugs that can result in signific. decr. in rilpivirine plasma concentr. (due to cytochr. P450 [CYP]3A enzyme induct. or gastric pH incr.), which may result in loss of ther. effect of this drug includ.:
• carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin
• rifabutin, rifampicin, rifapentine
• omeprazole, esomeprazole, dexlansoprazole, lansoprazole, pantoprazole, rabeprazole
• dexamethasone (oral and parenteral doses), except as a sgle. dose tmt.
