Dosage
Adult: Hypertension: 1 caplet daily. Lower initial doses of 120 mg a day may be warranted in patients who may have an increased response to verapamil (e.g. the elderly or small people). Upward titration should be based on therapeutic efficacy and safety evaluated approximately 24 hours after dosing. If adequate therapeutic response is not obtained after a period of at least one week, upward dosage titration is recommended to a maximum two caplets daily. See lit.
Angina pectoris: 1 caplet twice a day. Some patients respond to a lower dose. Adjustment to one caplet daily could be made. See lit.
Elderly: adult dose unless liver or renal function is impaired. See lit.
Children: not recommended. See lit.
