Adlts.:Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
- tmt. of erosive reflux esophagitis:
40 mg 1 X dly. for 4 weeks
-long-term manag. of ptts. with healed esophagitis to prev. relapse:20 mg 1X dly.

20 mg 1X dly
Eradic. of H. pylori: 20 mg+ 1g amoxicillin+ 500 mg clarithromycin, all 2 Xdly for 7 days.
For ptt. under NSAID ther.: 20 mg X1 dly.
Prolonged tmt. after i.v. induced prevent. of rebleed. of peptic ulcers: 40 mg 1 X dly. for 4 weeks
Adolesc from the age of 12: dosage as for adlts. For comb. antibiot. as per ptt. weight.

Antibacterial. Nitrofurantoin 100 mg. Caps.100 mg X 100
For adlts. and chld. aged 12 and over: one caps. every 12 hs. for 7 days.
Treatment of ac. uncomplic. urinary tract infect. (acute cystitis) caused by suscept. strains of Escherichia coli or Staphylococcus Saprophyticus in adult and adolesc. 12 years and older. Not indic. for pyelonephritis or perinephric abscesses.
C/I: Hypersens. Anuria, oliguria, or sign. impairm. of renal function (CC under 60 mL /min. or clinic. signif. elevated serum creatinine). In these ptts. there is an incr. tox. risk because of impaired drug excret.
Because possible hemolytic anemia due to immature erythrocyte enzyme syst. (glutathione instability), C/I in pregn. ptts. at term (38 to 42 weeks gest.), during labor and delivery, or when labor is imminent. In neonates under one mo.
In ptts. with a hist. of cholest. jaundice/hep. dysfunct. assoc. with nitrofurantoin.

Adults:20-40 mg 1 X dly. Transfer to oral ther. asap. GERD with esophagitis: 40 mg 1 X dly. Sympt. tmt. GERD: 20 mg 1 X dly. All as IV, as altern. to oral ther. when oral intake not appropr. Prevent. of rebleed. follow. therap. endoscopy for acute bleed. gastric/duoden. ulcers: 80 mg as a bolus, contin. by 8 mg/h given over 3 days
Chldr. aged 1-11: 10 mg 1 X dly. Chldr. aged 12-18: 20 mg 1X dly. See prescr. info.
