Long- term tmt. to prevent recur. of active inflame. in AIDS pts. with CMV retinitis (mainten. tmt.): Usual. dose: 2tabs.×1/d. same time each d. See lit.
Induct. & maintenan. tmt. of CMV retinitis in pts. with AIDS. For the prevent. of CMV dis. in CMV-negat. pts. who have received a solid organ transplant from a CMV-posit. donor.

Tmt of CMV Retinitis:
• Induction: 900 mg (18 ml) twice/d for 21 days.
• Maint.: After induct. or in adlts with inactive CMV retinitis, 900 mg (18 ml) once/d.
Prevent. of CMV Dis:
• For adlts who have received a heart or kidney-pancreas transplant, 900 mg (18 ml) once/d within 10 days of transplant. until 100 days post-transplant.
• For adlts who have received a kidney transplant, 900 mg (18 ml) once/d within 10 days of transplant. until 200 days post-transplant.
