Corticosteroid. Methylprednisolone (as hemisuccinate) 500 mg, 1 g. Lyoph. powder for sol. for inject. or infus.

First admin. to be done at hospital.
5 mg of prednisone is equiv. in potency to 4 mg of methylprednisolone.
Not suitable for inhal. using a nebulizer.
Reserved for cases req. high dose corticoster. ther.
ac. sympt. of rheumatoid arthritis, extra-renal sympt. of certain syst. dis., certain cases of syst. necrotiz. vascul., init. tmt. for certain cases of glomerulopathy: 500 mg to 1 g/d
organ transplant., graft reject.: 10 to 15 mg/kg/d,
graft versus host react.: 10 to 20 mg/kg/d and up to 500 mg/m² every 6 hours for 48 hs.
Powder to be mixed with 15.6 ml of water for inject. and the result. solut. to be admin. IV:
either direct. by slow inject., min. durat. = 20 to 30 min.
or by infus. after dilut. in isotonic sodium chloride or glucose solut. for inject.
Such high dose corticoster. ther. is grally. limited to 3 to 5 days

C/I: Hypersens. In pts who have syst. fungal infect. unless specific anti-infective ther. is employed and in cerebral oedema in malaria.

Admin. of live or live attenuated vacc. is contraindic. in pts. receiving immunosuppress. doses of corticoster.
Corticosteroid. Methylprednisolone (acetate) 2.5 mg/ml, Neomycin Sulphate 2.5 mg/ml, Sulfur 50 mg/ml, Aluminum Chlorhydroxide Complex Solution 200 mg/ml. LOTION: 25 cc. Apply 1-2 x dly.

C/I: Hypersens. Pts. with tuberculosis of the skin, herpes simplex, vaccinia, varicella and in other cutaneous infec. which do not respond to neomycin.
