All the Active Ingredient Drugs
ACE Inhibitor. Enalapril Maleate 5, 10, 20 mg. TABS: 30x5mg, 10mg, 20mg.
Hypertension: Initial: usually 5-20 mg 1 x dly. Dose of 5 mg or lower may be indicated in cases such as strongly activated renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, prior treatment with high doses diuretics. See lit.
Maintenance: usually 20 mg dly, max. maint. dose: 40 mg dly.
Heart failure/asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction: Initial 2.5 mg, increased gradually. Maintenance: 20mg in single dose/2 div. doses. Max: 40mg in 2 div. doses. See lit.

Treatment of essential hypertension, renovascular hypertension, CHF, to reduce mortality in all degrees heart failure. To retard development of symptomatic heart failure in asymptomatic patients with left ventricular dysfunction.
C/I: Hypersensitivity to active substance, or to any of the excipients or other ACE inhibitor; history of angioedema associated with previous ACE-inhibitor therapy, hereditary or idiopathic angioedema; 2nd, 3rd trimesters of pregnancy; concomitant use with aliskiren containing product in patients with diabetes mellitus or renal impairment (GFR <60ml/min/1.73 m2); combination with sacubitril/valsartan, do not administer enalapril within 36 hours of switching to or from sacubitril/valsartan. bef. meal, if BP cannot be control. by
either Lercanidipine or enalapril.
Elderly: Depend on kidney funct.
Child/adolesc.<18yrs: Not recommend.
Combo 10: Tmt. essent. hypertens. not
control. with lercanidipine alone.
Combo 20: Tmt. Essent. Hypertens. Not
control. With enalapril alone.
C/I: Hypersens. to active subs., excips,
other ACE inhib. Pregn., lact.
Uncontrol. CHF. Left ventric. outflow
tract obstruct. Unstable ang. pect. (at
rest or progress. incr.) Pts. within 1 m.
after MI. Severe ren.,/hepat. impair.
Concom. use with antifungals,
macrolides, antivirals, cyclosporine,
Grapefruit/ grapefruit juice. Assoc. with
aliskiren-contain. meds. in pts. with diab.
mell. or ren. impair., facial edema, lips,
tongue/throat, hands, feet (heredit./
associat. with use of ace inhib.): tissue
swell (heredit. trend. /unknown origin).
