Dosage
One tablet of 10 mg orally , once a day, can be taken at any time with or without food.
In combination with statins: both medicines can be taken at the same time.
Indications
Primary hypercholesterolemia:
Ezetimibe Teva administered with an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) or alone are indicated as adjunctive therapy to diet for use in patients with primary (heterozygous familial and non-familial) hypercholesterolemia.
Homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH):
Ezetimibe Teva administered with a statin are indicated for use in patients with HoFH. Patients may also receive adjunctive treatments (e.g. LDL apheresis).
Homozygous sitosterolemia (Phytosterolemia):
Ezetimibe Teva is indicated for use in patients with homozygous familial sitosterolemia.
Contra-Indications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of its excipients.
In combination with statins in patients with current hepatic impairment.
In combination with statins in pregnant of lactating women.
Important notes
Contains lactose.
