DNA Polymerase Inhibitor. Ganciclovir 500 mg. VIALS: 1, 5. Adults: Initially 5mg/kg
every 12 hrs. (at a constant rate of 1
hr.), every 12 hrs. by I.V. inf. for 14 - 21
days. Maint: 6mg/kg dly. by I.V. infus. 5
days/wk. or 5 mg/kg dly. for 7 days/wk.
Only in the tmt. of CMV retinit. in
immunocompromised pts., prevent. CMV
dis. in transplant pts. at risk for CMV dis.
DNA Polymerase Inhibitor. Penciclovir 10 mg/g. CREAM: 2 g. Apply every 2 hrs. during
the day for 4 days.
Topic. tmt. cold sores (oral herpes).
C/I: Hypersens. to penciclovir,
famciclovir, excips.
DNA Polymerase Inhibitor. Penciclovir 10 mg/g. CREAM: 2,5 gr. Apply every 2 hrs. during the day for 4 days.
Topical tmt. of cold sores (herpes labialis) suspected to be caused by Herpes simp. virus, signific. shortens healing time, reduces lesion-assoc. pain and significan. shortens the duration of viral shedding.
C/I: Hypersens.
DNA Polymerase Inhibitor. Foscarnet Trisodium (hexahydrate) 24 mg/ml. INFUS: 250 ml. See lit.
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) retint. in AIDS.
DNA Polymerase Inhibitor. Aciclovir 3% w/w. EYE OINT: 4.5 g x 3%. Apply 1 cm ribbon
of oint. inside lower conjunct. sac 5 x
dly. at approx. 4 hrly. intervals. Cont.
tmt. for at least 3 days aft. healed.
