Lincosamide. Clindamycin Phosphate 150 mg/ml.
AMPS: 5 x 4 ml (600 mg/4 ml). I.M./I.V:
Serious infects: 600-1,200 mg/day in
2-4 eq. doses. More severe anaerob.
infects: 1,200-2,700 mg/day in 2-4 eq.
doses. Life-threat. infects: Up to 4,800
mg/day I.V. Child: 1 mth-16 yrs: 20-40
mg/kg/day in 3-4 eq. doses I.M. Single
dose not to exceed 600 mg.
Serious infects. caused by suscept.
anerobic bact. and suspect. strains of
streptococci, pneumococci and
staphylococci.

Lincosamide. Clindamycin Phosphate 150 mg/ml.
Vial: sol for inject / infus  10 X 2 ml/4ml
To be diluted prior to IV admin. and infused over at least 10-60 minutes.
Adlts: Serious infect.: 600 mg - 1.2 g/d in 2/3/4 equal doses.
More sev. infect.: 1.2-2.7 g/d in 2/3/4 equal doses.
Single IM inject. of more than 600 mg are not recomm. nor is admin. of more than 1.2 g in a sgle one-hour infus.
For more serious infect., these doses may have to be incr. In life-threatening situations, doses as high as 4.8 g/d have been given IV to adlts.
Alternatively, may be admin. in the form of a sgle rapid infus. of the first dose followed by continuous IV infus.
Paed. pop:. Childr > 1 month of age): Serious infect: 15-25 mg/kg/d in 3 or 4 equal doses. To be dosed based on total BW regardless of obesity.
More sev. infect.: 25-40 mg/kg/d in 3 or 4 equal doses. In sev. infect. it is recommen. that childr. be given no less than 300 mg/d regardless of BW.
For the tmt.of infections caused by susceptible anaerobic bacteria.
Clindamycin does not penetrate the blood/brain barrier in therapeut. effective qtities
C/I: Hypersens. incl. to lincomycin.

C/I: History of hypersens. to preparations contain. clindamycin or lincomycin. Sol. for inj. must not be given to premature babies or neonates because of the benzyl alcohol content.

OVULES + APPLIC: 3. 1 ovule intravag.
at bedt. for 3 consec. days.
3-day tmt. bact. vaginosis. in non-pregn.
women.
C/I: Hypersens. to clindamycin/lincomycin,
reg. enterit; ulcerat. colit;
history of “antibiotic - assoc.” colit.

VAG. CREAM: 40 g plus 7 applic. 1
applic. intravag. at bedt. for 7 consec.
days.
Tmt. of bact. vaginos. only if bacteria susceptible to clindamycin were found.
C/I: Pts. with a hist. of hypersens.
to clindamycin, lincomycin.
Pts. with a hist. of IBD or a hist. of antibiotic-associated colitis.

Benzoyl Peroxide 5%, Clindamycin Phosphate 1%.
