Dosage
This medicine is not intended for administration to children and infants below 2 years of age, and as monotherapy, below 7 years of age.
This medicine is to be taken at specific time intervals as determined by the attending doctor.
If you forget to take this medicine at the specified time, take the dose as soon as you remember, but if it is almost time for the next dose, do not take the missed dose and continue with the regular dosing schedule. Do not take two doses together!
Attention: Be sure that the amount of sweating and/or body heat have not changed, especially in hot weather.
Directions for use: Do not chew! Swallow the medicine with a large amount of water, especially in hot weather and/or when participating in physical activity. This medicine can be taken with/after food or between meals. Children under 6 years of age have difficulty swallowing whole tablets, and this can sometimes be hazardous; the tablet therefore should be crushed and taken immediately. Do not halve the tablet.
Indications
Adjunctive therapy of adults and children (from 2 years) with partial seizures and generalized tonic-clonic seizures. Adjunctive therapy of seizures with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome in adults and children. Monotherapy in patients with newly diagnosed epilepsy in children aged 7 years and above or for conversion to monotherapy in patients with epilepsy. In adults for the prevention of migraines. The use in the acute treatment of migraine has not been studied.
Contra-Indications
Hypersensitivity, Pregnancy.
Special Precautions
Nephrolithiasis, CNS disease, acute myopia and secondary angle closure glaucoma.

Drug interactions
Phenytoin (monitor levels if signs of toxicity appear), digoxin, alcohol or other CNS depressants, oral contraceptives, other agents predisposing to nephrolithiasis.
