Dosage
Initial: 100-150 mg per day in divided doses, depends on severity.
May increase to maximum dosage of 600 mg (inpatients), 400 mg (outpatients) per day if necessary.

Indications
All types depression.
Contra-Indications
Not recommended for children. Known hypersensitivity, pregnancy and lactation.
Special Precautions
Not recommended for use during the initial recovery phase of myocardial infarction. Prescriptions should be written for the smallest number of tablets consistent with good patient management. Concomitant administration of antihypertensive therapy with trazodone may require a reduction in the dose of the antihypertensive drug. Patients with prolonged or inappropriate penile erection should be instructed to immediately discontinue the drug. Ability to perform potentially-hazardous tasks may be impaired.
Side Effects
Headache, sleepiness, nausea and vomiting, weakness, decreased alertness, weight loss, tremer, dry mouth, bradycardia, tachycardia, hypotension, constipation, diarrhea, blurred vision, restlessness, confusional states, insomnia, dizziness, priapism and skin rashes.
