Indications
Prevention of post-operative anerobic infections after gynecological or abdominal surgery. Trichomonas infections of the genito-urininary tracts. Amoebiasis, giardiasis.
Contra-Indications
Known hypersensitivity, patients with, or a history of, blood dyscrasia, although no persistent hematological abnormalities have been noted in clinical or animal studies. Patients with organic neurological disorders. The first trimester of pregnancy and in nursing mothers during the neonatal period.
Special Precautions
If abnormal neurological signs develop during therapy, the drug should be discontinued.
Side Effects
Infrequent, mild and self-limiting. Nausea, vomiting, anorexia, diarrhea and metallic taste, hypersensitivity reactions.
