Dosage
PROPECIA may be administered with or without meals.
One tablet (1 mg) taken once daily.
In general, daily use for three months or more is necessary before benefit is observed.
Indications
Men with alopecia androgenitica to increase hair growth and prevent further hair loss.
Contra-Indications
Hypersensitivity. Not indicated for use in women and children. Women who are or may potentially be pregnant must not handle crushed or broken tablets.
Special Precautions
Less than 50% of patients experience an increase in urinary flow and improvement in symptoms of BPH when treated with finasteride for 12 months. A minimum of 6 months treatment may be necessary. Prior to initiating therapy, appropriate evaluation should be performed to identify other conditions that might mimic BPH. Patients with a large residual urinary volume and/or severely diminished urinary flow, should be carefully monitored for obstructive uropathy. Prostate cancer. Crushed Pro-cure tablets should not be handled by a woman who is pregnant or who may become pregnant. PSA levels are decreased.

Side Effects
Generally well tolerated; adverse reactions have usually been mild and transient.
