Indications
Major depression.
Contra-Indications
Hypersensitivity to components, concurrent use with MAOI’s.
Special Precautions
Not to administer concomitantly with MAO inhibitors or within 2 weeks of cessation of therapy.
Side Effects
(> 1/100): Increase in appetite and weight gain, drowsiness/sedation, generally occurring during the first few weeks of treatment. Increases in liver enzyme levels. (< 1/1000): Hypotension, mania, convulsions, tremor, myoclonus, edema, acute bone marrow depression, exanthema.
Drug interactions
Alcohol, recently discontinued MAOIs, benzodiazepines.
