Genitalis in immune-comp. pts.:
500mg×1/d Preven. of CMV infec. –
adult./child. from 12 yrs. of age: 2000
×4/d a day. Begin tmt. immediat. after
organ transplant. Tmt. of H. Labialis:
2000mg×2/d 12 hrs. apart, for one day.
Tmt. of H. Zoster in immune-compet.
adults that includes acute and post-herp.
neuralgia. Tmt. of the init. and recurrent H.
Genitalis due to H. Simplex infec.
Preven. (suppres.) of recur. H. Simplex
infec. (H. Genitalis). Prophyl. of CMV infect.

(shingles) in immunocompetent adults
(initial and recur.): 2 tabs (1,000 mg) 3
x dly for 7 days. Genital herpes due to
herpes simplex infect. in
immunocompetent adults (initial and
recur.): 1 tab (500 mg) 2 x dly for 5-10
consec. days. Prevent (suppress) recur.
herpes simplex (herpes genitalis): 500
mg 1 x dly; pts. with very frequent
recurs: 250 mg 2 x dly. Proph.
cytomegalovirus (CMV) infect. and dis:
Adults and adolesc. 12 yrs and over: 2
g 4 x dly for 90 days or more in highrisk
pts. Reduce accord. to creatinine
clear.
