NSAID. Naproxen (Sodium) 275 mg. F.C. TABS: 20, 24. Adults/child over 12
yrs: 1 tab every 12 hrs/2 tabs 1 x dly.
Max: 2 tabs dly. 65 yrs and over: Max:
1.5 tabs dly.
Mild-mod. pain, fever, rheum. inflamm.,
tendinit., musculo-skeletal inflamms.,
prim. dysmenorrh.
C/I: Hypersens., acetylsalicyl. acid,
salicylates, NSAID’s.

or a starting dose of 2 tabs a day. Not
to exceed 2 tabs in 24 hrs. Elderly: Not
more than 1.5 tabs in 24 hrs. (1 or 1/2
tab every 12 hrs. intermit.)
Relief of aches, pains assoc. with the
common cold, headache, toothache,
muscular aches, backache, pain of
arthritis, dysmenorrh, reduct. fever.

For all indications: for doses of 250 mg of naproxen, an alternative medical product should be considered.
Rheumatic Dis.: daily dosage is 500 or 1000 mg taken as a sgle dose in the morning or in the evening. Alternatively, 250 or 500 mg may be taken twice/d at 12-hour intervals, morning and evening. In pts who tolerate lower doses well and have no hist. of GI dis., the dose may be incr. to 1500 mg/day for flare-ups or acute exacerbations of dis., for no longer than 2 weeks.
Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis In childr over 5 years of age dosage is 10 mg/kg BW/d, taken in 2 doses at 12-hour intervals. For childr who, based on their weight, a dose lower than 500 mg is req., an alternative tmt. should be considered
Periarticular and Musculoskeletal Dis.: 500 mg initially, followed thereafter by 250 mg at 8-12 hour intervals.
Acute Gouty Arthritis: 750 mg initially followed 8 hours later by 500 mg and thereafter by 250 mg 8-hourly, until the attack has passed
Primary Dysmenorrhea: 500 mg at the onset of menstrual pain, followed by 250 mg every 6 hours until symptoms have subsided, max. 1250 mg daily.
Relief of the signs and symptoms of rheumatic dis. incl.: osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, Rheumatoid arthritis both in the tmt. of acute flares and in the long-term management of the dis. - Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. - Periarticular and musculoskeletal dis.. - Relief of pain in bursitis, tendinitis, synovitis, tenosynovitis and lumbago. - Relief of pain, swelling, tenderness and fever in Acute Gouty Arthritis. - Relief of symptoms of primary dysmenorrhea.
C/I:Hypersens. Active or hist. of peptic ulceration or active GI bleeding (two or more distinct proven episodes). Hist. of GI bleeding or perforation, related to previous NSAIDs ther. Since the potential exists for cross-sensitivity reactions, this drug should not be given to pts in whom aspirin or other NSAID /analgesic drugs induce syndr. of asthma, rhinitis, nasal polyps or urticaria. These reactions have the potential of being fatal. Sev. anaphylactic-like reactions to naproxen have been reported in such patients. Sev.renal, hepatic or heart failure. Last trim. of pregn.
