All the Active Ingredient Drugs
Antibacterial, Antiprotozoal. Metronidazole 250 mg, 40 mg/ml (benzoate). ORAL TABS: 20 x 250 mg.
ORAL SUSP: 120 ml x 125 mg/5 ml.
Amoebiasis (intest. and hepat.) for
systemic and contact action: 1.5 to 2.0 g
dly. for 5-7 days. Child: 40-50 mg/kg
bdy. wt. dly. Giardiasis: 2 tabs. dly.
Child under 10: (accord. to age) 250-375
mg dly. for 5 days.
C/I: hypersens.
Antibacterial, Antiprotozoal. Metronidazole 500 mg / 100 ml. FLACON: 100 ml. Loading dose: 15 mg/
kg infused over 1 hr. Maint: 75 mg/ kg
infused over 1 hr, every 6 hrs.
Proph. and tmt. anaerob. bacteria and
protozoa.
C/I: Hypersens., lst trimester pregn., pts.
with trichomonas. See lit.
Antibacterial, Antiprotozoal. Metronidazole 500 mg / 100 ml. VIAL (Sol. for infus.): 10, 100. Pts. who cannot take orally. Slow I.V. infus. at rate of 1 vial/100 mg bag (500 mg) over 30-60
mins. Durat. ther: Not more than 10

anaerob. bact., prevent. infect. due to
surg. procedures.
Chemotherapeutics. Metronidazole 0.75%. Gel: 0.75% w/w X 30 g
Average tmt is 3 to 4 months. Recomm. duration should not be exceeded. However, if a clear benefit has been demonstr., ther. for a further 3 to 4 to months period may be considered. To be applied in a thin layer to the affected areas of the skin twice/d.
Topical tmt of inflammatory papules, pustules and erythema of rosacea
C/I: Hypersens. Metronidazole must not be used in pts with Cockayne syndr. Cases of sev. hepatotox/acute hepatic fail., incl. cases with a fatal outcome with very rapid onset after tmt initiation in pts with Cockayne syndr. have been reported with prod. containing metronidazole for syst. use.
Antibiotics. Metronidazole 7.5 mg/g. GEL: 40 g + 5 applicators. 1 applic. (5 g)
insert into vagina 1 x dly at bedt. for 5
days.
Bact. vaginosis (formally non-specific
vaginit.) gardnerella vaginalis vaginit. or
hemophilus vaginit.
