Penicillin. Ampicillin (as Sodium) 500 mg, 1 g, 2 g. AMPS: 1 x 500 mg, 1 g, 2 g. See
lit.
Infects. respir. tract, urin. tract, skin and
soft tissue, gastro-intest. infects. due to
gram +tive and gram –tive bact. infects.
Penicillin. Ampicillin (as sodium|) 1000 mg, 2000 mg, Sulbactam (as sodium|) 500 mg, 1000 mg. VIAL (pwdr for I.V./I.M. inject.):
1 x 1.5 g (1,000 mg / 500 mg),
3 g (2,000 mg / 1,000 mg).
Recommend. adult dosage of is 1.5 g -
3 g every 6 hrs.
This 1.5 - 3 g range represents the total
of ampicillin content plus the
sulbactam content of the drug, and
corresponds to a range of 1 g
ampicillin/0.5 g sulbactam to 2 g
ampicillin/1 g sulbactam. The total
dose of sulbactam should not exceed 4
gr/ d. See lit.
Ped. Pts. > 1 y old: 300 mg/ kg of bdy.
wt. admin. via IV infus. in equally
divided doses every 6 hrs. This 300
mg/kg/d dosage represent. the total
ampicillin content plus the sulbactam
content of the drug, and correspond.
to 200 mg ampicillin / 100 mg
sulbactam/kg/d. See lit.
