Tmt of prolong., acute, convuls. seizures in
infants, toddlers, children & adolesc. (from
3 mnths to < 18 yrs). It must only be used
by parents/carers where the pt has been
diagnosed to have epilepsy. For infants 3-6
mnths of age, tmt should be in a hospital
setting where monitoring is possible and
resuscitation equipment is available.
C/I: Hypersens. to the product or other
BZD; Myasth. gravis; Sev. respir. insuff.;
Sleep apnoea syndr.; Sev. hepatic impair.
Osmotic Laxative. Polyethylene Glycol 99.365% W/W. PWDR. (neutral, orange): 250
g. Adults (from 8 yrs): 17 g in 230 ml,
1-2 x dly. 6 mths-1 yr: 4 g in 50 ml, 1 x
dly; 1-4 yrs: 4-8 g in 50 ml, 1-2 x dly; 4-8
yrs: 8-16 g in 100 ml, 1-2 dly.
Stool softeners/volume expanders.
Constipat., hemorrh., anal fiss. Suitable
for diabet./hypertens. pts.; infants, child,
celiac pts, pts on diet.
C/I: Known or suspect. bowel obstruct.,
allergy/hypersens. to peg., GI perforat.
