Dosage
For oromucosal administration.
Children: Not suitable for children aged 12 years or under.
Rinse or gargle with 15 ml of Tantum Verde mouthwash for 2-3 times daily, to be used pure or diluted (in this case adding in the dosage measure 15 ml of water). Do not exceed the prescribed dose.
Indications
Locally acting analgesic and anti-inflammatory treatment for the relief of painful inflammatory conditions of the mouth and throat including: traumatic conditions: pharyngitis following tonsillectomy or the use of a naso-gastic tube. Inflammatory conditions: pharyngitis, aphthous ulcers and Oral ulceration due to radiation therapy. Dentistry: for use after dental operations.
Contra-Indications
Hypersensitivity.

Special Precautions
The use of the product, especially when prolonged, may cause sensitivity. In this case interrupt treatment and consult your doctor in order to establish a suitable therapy.
Tantum verde 0.15% w/v Mouthwash should generally be used undiluted, but if ‘stinging’ occurs the rinse may be diluted with water.
A void contact with eyes.
Tantum verde 0.15% w/v Mouthwash contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed).
In a limited number of patients, oro-pharyngeal ulcers may be a sign of more serious pathologies. lf symptoms should persist for more than 3 days, therefore, the patient must consult his physician or dentist according to his needs.
The use of benzydamine is inadvisable in cases of hypersensitivity to salicylic acid or other NSAIDs.
Caution should be used in patients with history of bronchial asthma, as bronchospasm events may develop in these groups of subjects.
Side Effects
The most common side effects are numbness and a stinging feeling in the mouth.

Pregnancy and Lactation
Tantum verde 0.15°/o w/v Mouthwash should not be used in pregnancy or lactation unless considered essential by the physician. There is סח evidence of a teratogenic effect in animal studies.
Overdose
Tantum verde 0.15% w/v Mouthwash is unlikely to cause adverse systemic effects, even if accidental ingestion should occur. Intoxication is only to be expected if large quantities of Tantum verde 0.15% w/v Mouthwash are swallowed.
Symptoms associated with ingested overdose of benzydamine are mainly gastrointestinal symptoms and symptoms of the central nervous system. Most frequent gastrointestinal symptoms are nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and esophageal irritation. Symptoms of the central nervous system include dizziness, hallucinations, agitation, anxiety and irritability.
וn acute overdose only symptomatic treatment is possible.
Patients should be kept under close observation and supportive treatment should be given.Adequate hydration must be maintained.
