Dosage
Head and neck cancer – Radiation-induced xerostomia: initial, 5 mg ORALLY 3 times daily; titrate based on response and tolerability; usual maintenance dose is 15 to 30 mg daily; MAX 10 mg per dose.
Sjögren’s syndrome – Xerostomia: 5 mg ORALLY 4 times per day.
Indications
Radiation induced xerostomia, Sjogren’s disease detected by biopsy.
Contra-Indications
Pregnant or breastfeeding, Sensitivity to any of the medicine’s ingredients, Below 18 years of age, Untreated asthma or chronic obstruction of the respiratory system, eye inflammation or glaucoma. Untreated kidney or heart disease. Chronic disease treated with medicines that act similarly to this medicine.

Side Effects
Flu-like symptoms, sweating, headache, more frequent need to pass urine, fatigue, chills, runny nose, allergic reactions such as rash and itching, dizziness diarrhea, constipation, indigestion, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, hypersalivation, flushing, rise in blood pressure, palpitations, murky eyes, abnormal vision, red, swollen and painful eyes.

Drug interactions
Beta-Blockers, Other Anticholinergic Agonists, Anticholinergics. Medicines to lower blood pressure and to treat heart diseases (e.g.,beta-blockers). Anticholinergics or medicines with anticholinergic activity (e.g.,medicines to treat abdominal spasms). Medicines to Treat Diarrhea. Atropine. Ipratropium Inhalers.
