    Selective β1 Blocker. Atenolol 25, 50, 100 mg.
    TABS.: 30 x 25mg, 50mg, 100mg.
    The dose must always be adjust. individ. with the lowest possible init. dosage.
    Ang.: initial. 50mg ×1/d, the dosage being incr. gradual. to 100mg after 1 wk., as needed and tolerated.
    M.I.: For pts. who present some days after suffer. an acute MI, 100 mg dly. is recomm. for long-term prophylaxis of MI.
    Hypertens.: initial. 25-50 mg ×1/d, the dosage being incr.  gradual. to
    100 mg ×1/d after 2 wks. as needed and tolerated.
    Elderly: dosage requirem. may be reduced especial.  in pts. with impair. renal funct.  See lit.
    Child: Due to the lack of experience in ped. pts.- Atenolol is not recommended.
    Renal failure: See Lit.
    Tmt.  of Ang. pect.; Acute M.I.; Hypertens. C/I: Pts. with: known hypersens. to act. substan., cardiogenic shock., uncontrol.  HF.,
    sick sinus syndr., 2nd or 3rd degree heart block., untreated phaeochromocytoma.,
