Progestagens & estrogens. Estradiol 1 mg, Dydrogesterone 10 mg. TABS.: 28. (14 white tabs. 1 mg estradiol & 14 grey tabs. contain.1 mg estradiol &10 mg dydrogesterone).
For each cycle of 28 d. for the first 14 d. one white tab. with estradiol once dly. and for the follow. 14 d. one grey tab. with estradiol & dydrogesterone once dly., as indicated on the calendar pack for 28 d.
After a cycle of 28 d. on the 29th day a new cycle of 28 days begins.Ttmt. cycles therefore follow one another without a break.
For the tmt. of estrogen defic. in postmenopausal women as an init. and mainten. dose, lowest effect. dose should be used and duration of tmt. period should be kept as short as possible. In case of no improve. of sympt. within 3 mo., tmt. should be stopped.
In general, seq. combined tmt. should be started with Femoston 1/10 mg.
Depend. on the clinical resp., dose can be adjust. accordingly. See lit.
Hormone replace. ther. for estrogen defic. sympt. in postmenopausal women at least 6 mo. since last menses.
Prevent. of osteoporosis in postmenopaus. women at high risk of fut. fractures. Should only be used in pts. intoler. of other products, appr. for the prevent. of osteoporosis or for whom these products are contra-ind.
Femoston is indic. for women with an intact uterus.
Experience with tmt. of women >65 yrs. is limited.
C/I:Hypersens. Presence/ suspic.of breast cancer; hist. of breast canc.
Presence / suspic. of estrogen-sensit. tumours (e.g.endometrial cancer).
Vag. bleed. of unknown cause
Untreated endometr. hyperplasia;
History of active venous thromboembolism (DVT, PE).
Presence of a thrombophilic condit. (e.g. protein C, protein S or antithrombin defic.
Active or recent arterial thromboembolic dis.(angin. pectoris, MI).
Acute hep. dis. or history of hep. dis. as long as the liver funct. values have not returned to normal.
Porphyria.
Progestagens & estrogens. Estradiol 0.5 mg / 1 mg, Dydrogesterone 2.5 mg / 5 mg. F.C. TABS.: 28. (1 mg 17β-estradiol / 5 mg dydrogesterone).
The dosage is 1 tab. per day for a 28 day cycle. The tmt. cycles therefore follow one another without a break.
