Growth Hormone Receptor Antagonist. Pegvisomant 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 mg.
Vial: powder and sol. for inject. 30 X  10,15,20,25,30 mg
Load. dose of 80 mg to be admin. SC under med. superv. Follow., 10 mg once/d. Dose adjustm. based on serum IGF I levels. to be meas. every 4-6 weeks and adjustm. made in increm. of 5 mg/d in order to maint. IGF I concentr. within age adjust. normal range and an optimal therap. resp. Max. dose not  to exceed 30 mg/d. Assess. baseline levels of liver enzymes prior init. See lit.
For adlt ptts. with acromegaly who had an inadeq. resp. to surgery and/or radiat. t and in whom an appropriate tmt. with somatostatin analogues did not normalize IGF I concentr. or was not toler.
