Cough Suppressants and Mucolytics. Pelargonium Sidoides Roots 100 g (= 93.985 ml) contain 0.2506 g dry extract from Pelargonium sidoides - roots (1:8-10) (EPs™ 7630), Ethanol 11% (w/w) 20 mg/ 7.5ml. SYRUP: 100 ml. Adult. & adolesc.>12 yrs.: 7.5 ml ×3/d. Child. 6-11 yrs.: 5 ml ×3/d.
Child. 1-5 yrs.: 2.5 ml ×3/d.
Symptomat. tmt. of acute bronchit. from age of 1 yrs. Tradit. herbal med. product for use in the common cold for adult. & child. from the age of 1 yrs.
C/I: Hypersens. Cases of severe hep. dis. Pts. in whom the condit. does not improve within 1 wk., with liver dysfunct. of different origin, or if fever, shortness of breath, bloody sputum occur. Cases of liver damage and hepatit. have been reported in connect. with the use of med. products contain. Pelargonium, no casual relationship with the use of this syrup, has been established.
Use in child.<1 year old.
For child.<2 years old., a medical examin. to determine the clinic. picture should be undertak. prior to admin. owing to the general. higher risk due to respirat. tract dis.
For child. 2-4 yrs. old, a prior med. examin. is necessary if they suffer from persist. or recur. cough.

Children aged 6-12 years: 1 film-coated tablet twice daily.
Tablets are taken with some liquid (preferably a glass of water) in the morning, midday and evening. Tablets are not to be taken in a lying position.
After symptoms subside, it is recommended to continue the treatment for several days in order to prevent a relapse. The duration of treatment should not exceed 3 weeks.
