SSRI. Paroxetine (as HCl) 20 mg, 30 mg. TABS: 30 x 20 mg, 30 mg. 1 tab. dly. in
the morn. with food. Depress. disord,
soc. phob: 20 mg dly. May incr. in 10
mg increments to max. 50 mg dly
accord. pt. response. OCD: 40 mg dly.
Initial: 20 mg incr. wkly in 10 mg
increments to max. 60 mg dly. Elderly:
Max: 40 mg dly.
Depress. all types, with/out anx., prevent.
relapse. Tmt./prevent. relapse OCD,
panic disords., with/out agoraphob. Tmt.
social phob., PTSD, GAD.
C/I: Hypersens., concom. tmt. with
thioridazine, pimozide. Comb. with
MAOI’s or within 2 wks aft.

OCD: Adult: 40 mg dly. Pts. should
start on 20mg can be incr. wkly. in 10
mg increm. Some pts. will benefit from
having their dose incr. up to a max.of
60 mg/d. Pts. with OCD should be
treated for a suffic. period to ensure
that they are free from sympt. Panic
disor.: Adults-40 mg dly. Pts. should be
start. on 10mg/d and the dose incr.
wkly. in 10 mg increm. accord. to pt.
response. Some pts. may benefit from
having their dose incr. up to a max. of
60 mg/d. Social Phobia: Adults-20 mg
dly. Pts. not respond. to a 20 mg dose
may benefit from having dose incr. in
10 mg increm. as required, up to a
max. of 50 mg/d accord. to the pt.
response.
Gener. anxiety disor.: Adults- 20 mg
dly. Some pts .not respond.to a 20 mg
dose may benefit from having dose

C/I: Hypersens. Concom. use with MAO
inhib. (include. linezolid, an antibiotic
which is a revers. non-select. MAO inhib.
and methylene blue or within 2 wks. of
termin. tmt. with MAO inhib. Likewise,
MAO inhib. should not be introd. within
2 wks. of cessation of ther. with
paroxetine. Concom. use thioridazine,
because, as with other drugs which
inhibit the hep. enzyme CYP450 2D6,
paroxetine can elevate plasma levels of
thioridazine.Concom. use with
pimozide.
