Mitotane

Antineoplastic. Mitotane 500 mg.
Tab. 100 X 500 mg. 2 - 3 g mitotane /day and incr. progress. (e.g. at 2-week interv.) until plasma levels reach therap. window 14 – 20 mg/L.
If urgent to ctrol Cushing’s sympt. in highly sympt. pts, higher start. doses between 4 - 6 g /day can be used and daily dose incr. more rapidly (e.g. every week). Start dose higher than 6 g/day not recomm.
Sympt. tmt. of adv. (unresect., metast. or relapsed) adr. cortic. carcin. (ACC). Effect on non funct. adr. cortic. carcin. is not establ.
C/I: Hypersens, lact., concomm. use of  spironolactone.
