Anticonvulsant. Lamotrigine 2, 5, 25, 50, 100, 200 mg. DISPERS./CHEW. TABS: 30. Monother.:
Adult and child over 12 yrs: init. dose is
25 mg dly. for 2 wks. foll. by 50 mg dly.
for 2 wks. incr. by max. of 50-100 mg
every 1-2 wks. Maint.: 100-200 mg dly.
some pts. may require 500 mg dly. for
opt. respon. See lit.
Add-on ther.: Adult and child over 12
yrs: in pts. taking valproate with - w/o
other AED, init. dose is 25 mg on alt.
days for 2 wks. then 25 mg dly. for 2
wks. then incr. by max. of 25-50 mg
every 1-2 wks. until opt. respon. is
reached. Maint.: 100-200 mg dly.
For pts. taking other AED or med.
inducing Lamotrigine metabol. with -
w/o other AED (exc. Valproate): init.
dosage is 50 mg dly. for 2 wks. foll. by
100 mg dly. for 2 wks. then incr. by
max. of 100 mg every 1-2 wks. until
opt. respon. is reached. Maint.: 200-400
mg dly. See lit.
Epilepsy: Monother. in adult and child over
12 yrs.: Simple part. seiz. ,complex part.
seiz., second. general. tonic-clonic seiz.,
Prim. General. tonic clonic seiz.
Monother. in child under 12 yrs. is not
recommended.
Add-on ther. in adult and child over 2 yrs.:

For doses of 25 mg -200 mg also
indicated: Adults (18 years of age and
over) Lamotrigine is indicated for the
prevention of mood episodes in patients
with bipolar disorder predominantly by
preventing depressive episodes.
