BAG (Sol. for Cont. IV Infus.): 250 ml, 500
ml.
BOTTLE (Sol. for Cont. IV Infus.): 500 ml.
Initial: 10-20 ml slowly infused, under
close observ. due to poss. anaphylact.
react. Max. daily dose is 33 ml/kg bdy.

Ther. and proph. of hypovolemia, acute
normovolaemic haemodilution technique.
C/I: Fluid overload (hyperhydr.); Starch
allergy; Ren. fail. with oliguria/anuria; Pts.
receiv. dialysis tmt; Intracranial bleed.;
Hypervolaemia; Sev. hypernatremia or sev.
hyperchloremia; hypersens. to
hydroxyethyl starches.
