improv., can be reduced to once dly.

corticosteroid ther.
C/I: Hypersens. 1st trim. of preg. Lact.
Tmt.of bact. infec. (includ. dermal
tuberculosis), viral or fungal skin infec.
Infan.<1 year of age. (Cream only): Tmt.
of acne vulg., inflamm. around the
mouth, viral infec. , such as chicken pox
or herpes. Tmt. of bact. infec., include.
dermal tuberculosis, or fung. skin
infections, itching of the genitals or the
anus. Tmt. of skin dis., (e.g. rosacea, sev.
redn. of the facial skin) or a red rash in
the mouth and chin area (perioral
dermatit.).

Corticosteroid. Clobetasol Propionate 0.05%.
CREAM: 25, 30 g. Adult., Elder., Child. over 1 year Apply 1-2 x dly. Tmt. should not be cont. more than 4 wks. If cont. tmt. is necessary, a less potent prepar. should be used. Max. wkly. dose should not exceed 50 gr/wk.
Recalcitrant dermatoses: once dly., twice wkly. without occlusion) may be considered. See lit.
Clobetasol is a very potent topical corticosteroid indicat. for adult., elderly & child. over 1 year for the short term tmt. only of more resistant inflamm. and pruritic manifestat. of steroid responsive dermatoses unresponsive to less potent corticosteroids.
These include the follow.:
Psoriasis (exclud. widespread plaque psoriasis); Recalcitrant dermatoses; Lichen planus; Discoid lupus erythematosus; Other skin conditions which do not respond satisfactorily to less potent steroids.
C/I: Hypersens. Pts. with untreat. cutan. infect. (fung., bact., viral), Rosacea, Acne vulgar, Prurit. without inflam, Perianal & genit. prurit., Perioral dermatit. Clobetasol is contraind. in dermatoses in child. under 1 year of age, includ. dermatit. and nappy erupt.
