Dosage for adults and children is according to doctor’s instructions only. Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
If there is no improvement in your condition within 5-7 days, or if your condition
deteriorates refer to your doctor.
This medicine is to be applied at specific time intervals as determined by the attending doctor. If you forget to instill the drops at the specified time, apply as soon as you remember, but never apply a double dose to compensate for a missed one!
Directions for use: Wash your hands thoroughly. Tilt your head back or lie down on a bed and with the aid of a finger pull the lower eyelid slightly away from the eye. Instill the medicine into the gap, and keep your eyes closed for 1-2 minutes. Try not to blink.
To prevent contamination of the eye drops, take care not to allow the tip of the bottle to come into contact with any surface including the finger or the eye itself, and close the bottle tightly after use. Do not use this medicine for more than one month after the bottle is first opened.
This medicine is indicated for the treatment of serious ocular infections due to strains of microorganisms susceptible to chloramphenicol and/or polymyxin B sulphate.
Do not use this medicine in cases of fungal, viral, herpes simplex eye infections or after removal of a corneal foreign body.
Do not use this medicine if you are sensitive to any of its ingredients.
This medicine contains chloramphenicol which in prolonged use may cause hematological changes. Prolonged use of antibiotics may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms, including fungi.
Do not use this medicine frequently, or for a long period, without consulting a doctor.
If you are sensitive to any type of food or medicine, inform your doctor before commencing treatment with this medicine.
Side effects that require special attention: Burning, itching, redness, swelling or any other sign of irritation not present before therapy, ocular pain (rare): stop treatment and consult physician.
Pale skin, sore throat, fever, unusual bleeding, tiredness or weakness (rare): stop treatment and consult physician.
These side effects may also occur after completing treatment. In the event that you experience side effects not mentioned in this leaflet, or if there is a change in your general health, consult your doctor immediately.
Adverse reactions and drug interactions in children and infants: Parents must inform the attending doctor about any side effects, as well as any additional medicine being taken by the child!
If you are taking another drug concomitantly or if you have just finished treatment with another medicine, inform the attending doctor, in order to prevent hazards or lack of efficacy arising from drug interactions.
This is especially important for medicines belonging to the following groups: bone marrow suppressants and any other ophthalmic medicine.
Storage: Store in a refrigerator (2-8°C). Use the product for up to one
month after opening.
