    Dosage

    Dosage for adults and children is according to doctor’s instructions only. Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
    If there is no improvement in your condition within 5-7 days, or if your condition
    deteriorates refer to your doctor.
    This medicine is to be applied at specific time intervals as determined by the attending doctor. If you forget to instill the drops at the specified time, apply as soon as you remember, but never apply a double dose to compensate for a missed one!
    Directions for use: Wash your hands thoroughly. Tilt your head back or lie down on a bed and with the aid of a finger pull the lower eyelid slightly away from the eye. Instill the medicine into the gap, and keep your eyes closed for 1-2 minutes. Try not to blink.
    To prevent contamination of the eye drops, take care not to allow the tip of the bottle to come into contact with any surface including the finger or the eye itself, and close the bottle tightly after use. Do not use this medicine for more than one month after the bottle is first opened.


    Indications

    This medicine is indicated for the treatment of serious ocular infections due to strains of microorganisms susceptible to chloramphenicol and/or polymyxin B sulphate.


    Contra-Indications

    Hypersensitivity, epithelial herpes simplex, acute infectious stages of vaccinia and varicella, viral diseases of the cornea and conjunctiva, fungal diseases of ocular structures, following uncomplicated removal of a corneal foreign body.


    Special Precautions

    Bone marrow hypoplasia including aplastic anemia and even death have been reported following the local application of chloramphenicol. Prolonged use of this preparation may result in ocular hypertension and/or glaucoma. In acute purulent conditions of the eye, corticosteroids may mask infection or aggravate existing infection.


    Side Effects

    Blood dyscrasias, allergic sensitivity. The development of secondary infection has occurred following the use of combinations containing steroids and antimicrobials. Fungal infections of the cornea are particularly prone to develop.


    Drug interactions

    If you are taking another drug concomitantly or if you have just finished treatment with another medicine, inform the attending doctor, in order to prevent hazards or lack of efficacy arising from drug interactions.
    This is especially important for medicines belonging to the following groups: bone marrow suppressants, antiglaucoma agents, anticholinergics, especially atropine, and any other ophthalmic medicine.


    Important notes

    Storage: Store in a refrigerator (2-8°C). Use the product for up to one
    month after opening.
