    Dosage

    For application to the skin.
    Unless otherwise prescribed, Aknemycin Plus is applied once or twice daily to the cleansed skin.
    Aknemycin Plus is applied directly from the special applicator bottle on to the skin. This enables the product to be applied simply, hygienically and sparingly. The applicator is constructed in such a way that no particles of dirt can be transferred from the skin to the solution.
    The duration of application depends on the condition of the skin, but should not exceed twelve weeks. Consistent application makes a significant contribution to the success of the therapy.


    Indications

    All forms of acne, both non-inflammatory with comedones and inflammatory with papules and pustules, particularly in the case of fat rich skin.


    Contra-Indications

    Hypersensitivity to the active substances, a family history of cutaneous epithelioma, acute eczema, rosacea and acute inflammatory conditions of the skin, especially around the mouth, underlying sunburn, concomitantly with other skin medicdbation particulary those containing keratolytic agents.

    Special Precautions

    Pregnancy and lactation. Keep away from the eye and eyelids, the mouth and other mucous membranes. Not to be applied to eczematous skin, cuts and abrasions. Exposure to sunlight, including sunlamps. Use of sunscreen products and protective clothing over treated areas may be prudent.


    Side Effects

    Severe erythema, irritation and discomfort, temporary hypo-or hyper-pigmentation.


    Drug interactions

    Carbamazepine, cyclosporin, disopyramide, theophylline, bromocriptine, midazolam, triazolam. Coumarin anticoagulants, ergot alkaloids, digoxin. Alfentanil, lincomycin, clindamycin, terfenadine, astemizole, cisapride.
