Antiemetic. Metoclopramide (as HCl) 10 mg / 2 ml, 10.52 mg. TABS: 30 x 10 mg. AMPS: 5, 25, 50, 100 x
10 mg/2 ml.
Adults: Recomm. dose is 10 mg, 1 to 3/
day.
Max. recomm. daily dose is 30 mg or
0.5 mg/kg bdywt.
Max. recomm. tmt period is usually 5
days.
Child.: Recomm. dose is 0.1 mg - 0.15
mg/kg bdywt, 1- 3/ day.
Max. recomm. daily dose is 0.5 mg/kg
bdywt. Not for use in children wt. less
than 30 kg. Max. recomm. tmt. period
is usually 5 days.
Diabetic gastroparesis (adults and
child.) - see lit.
Facilitation of diagn. proced. (adults
and child.) - see lit.
Antiemetic and stimul. GI motil.
C/I: Hypersens.; When GI motil. stimul.
poses a threat: GI hemorrh.; mechan.
obstruct. or perfor. of the GI tract; Known
or suspect. pheochromocytoma carriers
because of the risk of sev. hypertensive
epis.; Known history of tardive dyskinesia
when taking neuroleptics or
metoclopramide. Epilepsy (increased
frequency and intensity of seizures).
Parkinson’s dis.; Concom. with levodopa or
dopamine agonists.
Known history of methemoglobinemia
with metoclopramide or NADH CYP-b5
reductase defic. In childr. under 1 yr of
age because of incr. risk of extrapyr. dis.
Antiemetic. Cinnarizine 25 mg. TABS: 25.
Dis. of balance: Adults: 1 tab. x 25 mg
t.i.d. Motion sickn.: Adults: 1 tab. x 25
mg 30 min. bef. travel. every 6 hrs.
Child. (5-12): 1/2 adult dose recomm.
Naus. and vertigo due to Meniere’s syndr.
and other labyrinth. disturb.
