Alkylating Agent. Calcium Folinate 10 mg/ml. VIALS (sol. for inj.): 1 x 100 mg/10 ml, 200 mg/20 ml, 500 mg/50 ml, 1000 mg/100 ml.
I.V./I.M. only. If use I.V: No more than
160 mg/min, diluted with 0.9% sod.
chlor. sol. or 5% glucose sol. See lit.
To diminish the toxic. and counteract the
action of folic acid antagonists in
cytotoxic ther. As Leucovorin-Fluorouracil
chemotherapy comb. for cancer tmt.
C/I: Hypersens., pernicious anem., other
anem. due to B12 defic.
Folic Acid Derivative. Calcium Folinate 10 mg/ml. VIALS (sol. for inj.): 5 ml, 10 ml, 20 ml, 30
ml, 50 ml x 10 mg/ml.
Dosage must be ajust. individ. for each
pt. accord. to pt. med. cond.

Folic Acid Derivative. Calcium Folinate 15 mg. TABS.: 10,12×15 mg. For oral admin.
Calcium Folinate Rescue: Adults & Child.: In general up to 120mg in divided doses over 12 - 24 hrs. by IM inject., bolus IV inj., or IV infus. in 0.9% w/v NaCl sol. follow. by 12 - 15mg IM or 15 mg oral., every 6 hrs. for the next 48 hrs.
Calcium Folinate should not be given simultan. with methotrexate as it may reduce or suppress its anti-neoplast. activity. It is recomm. that admin. should commence within the first 24 hrs. follow. methotrexate. In overdose situations or when the half-life of methotrexate is incr.(e.g. renal funct. impair.or pleural or periton. effusions) it is important that Calcium Folinate be given until the blood conc. of methotrexate declines to non-toxic conc. In these cases, doses of Calcium Folinate equal to or greater than those of methotrexate should be given.
Folinate defic.: Adults: 15mg (one tab.)×1/d.
Child. up to 12 yrs.: 0.25mg/kg.day.
